2) Why should I subscribe to BestBequest?

Most of us work all of our lives to protect and provide for our families. Yet many of us do nothing to protect them after we are gone. The time they will need us the most. With BestBequest you can help them by having things organized, leaving advice and guidance, and hopefully removing confusion that can be the cause of disputes that often destroy a family. It’s a very common story today of brothers and sisters fighting after their parents have passed.

Rarely in our lifetimes, do we get to say the things we always wanted, or things that we never could. With BestBequest this is your opportunity to leave messages to the people you care about. 4) What services does BestBequest offer?

  • Detail lists - Of assets and liabilities that are often not listed in a WILL. This will help your executor locate and settle your estate.
  • Final wishes - Funeral preferences and arrangements can be clearly recorded so your wishes are known.
  • Emails- Final messages for family and friends.
  • Delayed messages- Send a message to someone years ahead.

5) Do you keep all my email addresses private?

Any email address you enter into your account is private and confidential. Please see our privacy statement for detailed information.

6) Is my information private?

BestBequest is a private and secure online service that believes that your information is confidential.  All of your information is encrypted and private.  We are not able to de-crypt your information, and we are not able to see you information.  Your privacy and security are the cornerstone of our business model.

8) Will anyone else be able to view the files on my account?

No, even if you have a joint account, your joint account holder cannot see your personal information, emails and videos. You can only share the albums in the vault that you have selected to be shared.

Yes, your information is kept in several secure data centers, and our systems are backed up regularly.

All of the service providers are advertisers. BestBequest does not give any advice or make any recommendations as to what vendor you should use. You can see more information about this in our Terms and Conditions.

12) Can this be used as a "WILL" or a "CODICIL"?

No, this is not a “WILL”, and it cannot be used as a “CODICIL” to your “WILL”.   You can however, upload a copy of your WILL or any CODICILS for safekeeping.

13) Why not?

Each state has had different requirements for “WILLS” and “CODICILS”. For example, in most states “WILLS” and codicils need to be witnessed by two individuals.

No it is not.  BestBequest does not have an area for medical records.

Account Questions

1) What will happen to my account after my death?

When your account is activated all of your data fields are locked and no more information can be added to or deleted from your account.

The rest is up to you. Your reports and emails will go out as you have specified, and your vault will be passed to the person(s) you have designated.

2) How will BestBequest know that I have died?

3) How do I update my personal information?

Log into your account, and go to the “Interview” and select the individual module that you want to update. You can do this as often as you like. The service is available 24/7, 365 days a year, from anywhere in the world. All you need is Internet access.

4) What if I forget my login username and/or password?

Go to the Help section of the Login screen and follow the instructions.

5) What happens if I lose my security key?

Our system security is based on your personalized security key.  We do not store your key on the system or in our offices. If you lose your security key your data in the INTERVIEW will be lost and cannot be recovered.  THERE IS NO WAY WE CAN RECOVER YOUR INFORMATION.  Your media files (pictures and videos) use a different security system that can be recovered.

6) What is the account delay?

In order to safeguard against the release of your information due to false activation, you can set an safety delay.  When your account is activated the time delay starts, and none of your information will be released until the time delay has passed.  This gives you the safeguard of being able access your account and stop the activation process.  The delay time is between 24-72 hours.

7) What is "TimeSensitive"?

The “TimeSensitive” box marks the item and notifies the person that you have designated to receive your information that this particular matter is requires immediate attention.

1) What is the Account Activator System?

There are two different systems you can use.  

  1. Bypass System - 
  2. Friend & Family System -

BYPASS SYSTEM allows one person to activate your account.

FRIENDS & FAMILY SYSTEM requires the majority of a group you have selected to confirm, your condition for your account to be activated.

2) What is an “Account Activator” & what do they do?

Account Activators play a very important part in the “Life Event Management System” They start the process by notifying the system that something has happened to you. 

Most people pick close friends and family members to act as Account Activators.

4) Can the Account Activator see the data in my account?

No. AA's can never see or view any information in your account.  They just start the activation process, nothing more.

No, not until your account is activated.  Once activated your Account Trustees will receive the reports of your information.

Message Delivery

1) How does BestBequest know to send out my messages?

When your account is activated, BestBequest automatically follows the directives you selected when you set up your account. Your orders are followed electronically. There is no human interaction once the account activated.

2) How can I be certain that my messages will be delivered after my death?

The best way is to make sure that you recipients email addresses are correct and current when you set up the account. We also recommend that you do not use business email accounts. You should use personal email accounts only.

1) What is a "WILL"??

A "Will" or "Testament" is a legal declaration by which a person names one or more persons to manage his/her estate and provides for the transfer of his/her property at death.

2) Is an audio or video "WILL" valid?

No, all “WILLS” must be in writing; so audio and video “WILLS” are not valid at the present time.

3) I have a "WILL" from NY and I live in Texas, is the NY "WILL" valid in Texas?

Yes is it, however many states have very specific language that needs to be included in a “WILL”. You should consult your attorney from the state in which you are currently living in to ensure that your “WILL” has the correct state specific language.

5) What is a "Living Will or Health Care Directive"?

A "Health Care Directive"; or "Living Will" specifies what actions should be taken in the event you are no longer able to make decisions due to illness or incapacity, particularly with regard to the administration of life-prolonging measures.

6) What is a DNR?

A "Do Not Resuscitate" document, often called a “Living Will”, is a binding legal document that states resuscitation should not be attempted if a person suffers cardiac or respiratory arrest.

7) What is a Trustee?

A Trustee is an individual or organization, which holds or manages assets for the benefit of another. The trustee is legally obliged to make all trust-related decisions with the beneficiary's interests in mind, and may be liable for damages in the event of not doing so. Trustees may be entitled to a payment for their services, if specified in the trust dee

An Executor is a person named in a will to administer the estate of a person upon that person's death.

An "Estate Plan" is a plan that typically attempts to eliminate uncertainties over the administration of a probate and maximize the value of the estate by reducing taxes and other expenses.

Probate is the court-supervised process of gathering a deceased person's assets and distributing them to creditors and inheritors.

11) What is the Probate Process?

When you die, you heirs will need to hire a lawyer who will file the "WILL" at the local courthouse. The “WILL” is then taken before a judge who will review the "WILL" to determine if it is valid. The judge will then sign an order granting power to the executor that you named in your "WILL" to collect and manage your assets and distribute your property to the beneficiaries after creditors and taxes are paid. This process is called "probate". The executor is the person you choose to carry out your wishes, so be sure to pick someone that you trust and is capable of handling your affairs properly.

12) What is "Intestate"?

A person is said to have died “Intestate” - "without testimony" when there is no “WILL”. As a result, there can be no actual 'testimony' to follow, and hence there can be no Executor. If there is no “WILL” or where the Executors named in a “WILL” do not wish to act, an administrator of the deceased's estate may instead be appointed by the court.

13) Other terms or definitions:

These terms or definitions only apply to the BestBequest.com website.

  1. Account Trustee (s) - Receives your reports, they cannot see your account while you are alive, and they cannot change or delete any information from your account after you pass.   An Account Trustee can also be the Executor of your estate.  You can have more than one Account Trustee.
  2. Account Activators - Are the people you have asked to help you activate your account in the event something happens to you.  You should have several Account Activators; we recommend that you have five.  Account Activators do not have any access to your account, and they cannot receive any reports.
  3. Recipients - Are the people that receive you emails and video messages.
  4. Designee - The person or persons you choose to receive a copy of your media vault.

Subscription

1) How much does it cost?

We have several plans based upon options that you pick.  Please refer to www.BestBequest.com/rates to see the various plans available.

2) How will I know that my subscription is about to expire?

We will notify you one month before your account is up for renewal.  Once you renew we will confirm that your payment and we will send you a receipt for your records. If there are any problems with the billing you will be immediately notified by email.  BestBequest can also be auto-billed on an annual basis if you so select this option on your “DashBoard”.

3) If I do not renew my service what will happen to my information?

You have 24 months to re-activate your account. Re-activation consists of paying for the interim period that you were not a member, along with a reactivation fee. If you do not reactivate your account within 24-month period of you account going inactive, a final notice will be sent to you, and 30 days after the date of the notice all of your files will be deleted from our system.

4) What is the best time to join BestBequest?

We tend to think that the sooner the better. You never know what will happen tomorrow.

5) Is there a lifetime subscription?

No, there is no way for us to offer a lifetime subscription that allows for the economic stability of the company, and continued service in the years to come.

6) What is the refund or cancellation policy?

You may cancel your account for any reason, and at any time. Cancellation instructions are located on the "Dash Board"

Refunds are available if you cancel your account within seven (7) days of opening your account.
